Lincoln From Loud House Character With Coffee Animated
Today'south cartoon review looks at Nickelodeon's animated series "The Loud Firm." The testify debuted in 2016.
Summary
The series features the Loud family, a family of 11 children ranging in age from infancy to 17. All save one of the Loud siblings are girls; the main character of the series is Lincoln, an 11-year-sometime male child. Lincoln occasionally breaks the fourth wall to talk to the viewers about his life in a chaotic and crowded household, or describe what he's doing in that particular episode.
"The Loud Business firm"'due south setting is in southeastern Michigan, in the fictional town of Majestic Oaks. Which makes the testify stand out; I can't recollect of many other cartoons that are set up in Michigan. As such, there'south heavy snowfall in winter-gear up episodes. There'southward too some trips to another city some distance away. Oddly, it's not Detroit (the biggest city in southeastern Michigan), but the fictional Great Lakes City, which is loosely based on Chicago (down to having a subway/elevated railroad train).
The series was created by Chris Savino. Savino worked on the start few seasons, but was fired past Nickelodeon afterward a series of sexual harassment complaints.
Bandage

Other than Lincoln, the other Loud siblings (from oldest to youngest) include:
- Lori, who tends to be bossy and focused on her boyfriend Bobby.
- Leni, a very ditzy girl interested in fashion.
- Luna, who'southward into rock music and plays guitar.
- Luan, an apprentice stand-up comedian and practical joker.
- Lynn Jr., an athlete who seems to accept mastered every sport.
- Lucy, a grade-school-aged goth, with macabre interests.
- Lola, a somewhat spoiled child who frequently enters (and wins) kid beauty pageants.
- Lana, Lola's twin and polar contrary; Lana enjoys catching frogs, repairing cars (despite her young age), and being messy.
- Lisa, a four-year-old super-intelligent genius.
- Lily, a toddler.
Other cast members include:
- Clyde McBride: Lincoln's best friend. An African American boy and simply kid, who enjoys spending time around Lincoln's chaotic family. He's noted for being often nervous and cautious about everything. Early episodes showed Clyde with a trounce on Lori, but this was eventually phased out.
- Harold and Howard McBride: Clyde'southward parents. Clyde apparently gets his behavior from them, as they're both overprotective of their son—their thought of stuff to pack for Clyde'south sleepover at the Louds includes a humidifier and a dehumidifier.
- Lynn Sr. and Rita Loud: The Loud siblings' parents.
- Bobby Santiago: Lori's boyfriend. He ofttimes seems subject to various mishaps, but is a prissy guy.
- Ronnie Anne Santiago: Lincoln's friend and Bobby's younger sister.
Spin-offs
In 2022, Nickelodeon debuted a spin-off, "The Casagrandes," starring Bobby and Ronnie'due south extended family, every bit the siblings motility to Great Lakes Urban center.
A made-for-TV flick aired on Netflix in 2022, "The Loud House Moving-picture show." In the film, the Loud family have a vacation to visit their ancestral domicile in Scotland. Without spoiling annihilation, information technology takes a more than fantastical tone than nigh "Loud Firm" episodes.
Nickelodeon also produced a live-activeness flick for Paramount+ in 2022, "A Loud House Christmas." Here, Loud wants to spend Christmas with his family, who all have other ideas. The film manages to get everyone'due south looks reasonably accurate; still, I greatly adopt their animated versions.

"The Loud House" features several LGBTQ characters, such as Clyde's parents. In that location's also Luna, who's shown involvement in another girl, Sam Sharp, as first seen in the episode "50 is for Beloved." Subsequently episodes (and the alive-activeness flick) show Luna and Sam dating. Even the testify'southward official YouTube page shows enthusiasm for Luna and Sam. (Equally does the bear witness's fans, going past the millions of views said videos have racked up.) And yes, Sam'south last proper noun is likely a music-related pun.
"The Casagrandes" has also gotten some praise for featuring a Mexican-American bandage.
The show's also the rare cartoon whose characters have aged, even if slightly. In the fifth flavor, everyone's age went up past a year; every bit such, Lori left dwelling house for college.
The show'southward parodied a few other TV shows. The family enjoys watching "The Dream Boat," which seems to be a cross between reality shows (particularly "The Bachelor") and 70s/80s dramedy "The Honey Boat." Lucy's favorite Idiot box prove, "Vampires of Melachonia," seems like a mix of "Twilight," a stereotypical CW teen drama, and 60s vampire-starring soap opera "Dark Shadows."
Finally, at this indicate, "The Loud House" is Nickelodeon'south most popular drawing that doesn't star SpongeBob or the "Paw Patrol" dogs.
